The coffee table book "Carbon, Pressure & Time: A Book of Jewels" showcases the extensive personal collection of clothing, jewelry, watches and acessoires of world star Pharrell Williams. Rizzoli's photo book is a stunning and unprecedented exploration of the "bling" in hip-hop culture and fashion.

Few artists have played a bigger role in integrating hip-hop culture into contemporary luxury than Pharrell Williams. Pharrell collaborated with Louis Vuitton nearly two decades ago and was the first to have his designs integrated into the major brands' haute joaillerie. His innovative collaborations continue to this day, most memorably with Tiffany and Chanel, and watchmaker Richard Mille.

The most extravagant necklaces, rings and pendants, made of precious metal and studded with gemstones, are as much a part of Pharrell's musical achievements as his personal style. His designs, including one-off pieces such as solid gold cases for cell phones and portable game consoles, are legendary for the iconography of Pharrell's own brands, Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.

The book features more than 100 garments, many of which he has created in collaboration with some of the industry's most recognizable designers, such as Jacob & Co, Yoon & Verbal and Lorraine Schwartz. With regular collaborators such as NIGO® and Tyler the Creator, Pharrell discusses his role in the evolution of hip-hop jewelry, the processes involved and how he designed his jewelry.
