If you spend a reasonable amount of time online, chances are you've come across the phrase: #SENDNUDES. The term is used to request sexually explicit photos, mostly through text messaging and dating apps. Over time, #SENDNUDES has also become a meme, often used as a punchline in image and video gags on the Internet.
Today, #SENDNUDES makes another transition - as the title of a carefully curated book of nude photography. In collaboration with Iman Whitfield, MENDO asked photographers from around the world to send in their favorite photographs of female sensuality and intimacy. The result is a visually stunning photo collection that approaches erotic photography from a female point of view, celebrates the diversity of female beauty and body confidence, and teases the delicate line between that which is revealed and that which remains private.
The images come from all over the world, from highly skilled erotic photographers such as Dennis Swiatkowski, Fauve Bouwman and Paul Bellaart - each with their own style and approach to female sensuality, intimacy and elegance.
Iman Whitfield
Iman Whitfield is a creative director and (fashion) film director. She graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy with a video series titled "LoveStories" that went viral. Since then, she has made fashion films for major brands such as Scotch & Soda, Nike, Suitsupply and Lois Jeans. Iman loves observing people and their features and is constantly capturing the people around her on film or photo.
